Luftbild Reetdorf Geltinger Birk - Die ehemalige Sandkoppel-Kaserne in Nieby | Die Sandkoppel-Kaserne in Nieby, Schleswig-Holstein, war von 1962 bis 1995 eine militärische Einrichtung der Marinefernmeldegruppe (mot) 31 der Deutschen Marine. Die Kaserne befand sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Naturschutzgebiet Geltinger Birk, einem besonders sensiblen Ökosystem an der Flensburger Förde. Nach der Aufgabe durch die Bundeswehr lag das Gelände zunächst brach. 2014 erwarb ein Kappelner Investor das rund acht Hektar große Areal mit dem Ziel, ein Feriendorf zu errichten.
